[SINGKAWANG] Nasi Ayam 339 & Bakmi Singkawang at Pasar Turi Singkawang

October 6th, 2017. My morning at Pasar Turi Singkawang with my mom-in-law and hubby’s cousin.

**********

Nasi Ayam 339 was one of our favourite pork rice in Singkawang. We drove to Pasar Turi, and walked around to find Nasi Ayam. Actually it was Nasi Campur with pork and chicken. I didn’t eat at the place. We got it for take away Nasi Ayam.

Nasi Campur

Generous portion with generous pork and everything. Remember that nasi campur pontianak used thick savory broth? It was the same with nasi campur singkawang. I guess it’s Kalimantan’s tradition. It was good for me, but I guess my family won’t like it. They prefer clear broth for nasi campur hahaha.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Not so far from Nasi Ayam 339, we found Bakmi Singkawang. Yaaaay. My mom-in-law was very happy. She didn’t wanna eat Nasi Campur, so she was searching other options. And voila! Bakmi Keriting.

Bakmi Keriting

I didn’t try it because I had already eaten my nasi campur. But hubby’s cousin said that it was really good. I think my mom-in-law was happy with the noodle, since I didn’t hear any complaint from her. Yaaaay.

timbrè coffee at Pluit Sakti Jakarta

December 10th, 2017. When I knew about this new coffee shop, I wanted to visit timbrè coffee right away. Too bad, it opened in Pluit area. I had to spare time to go there.

IMG_8890

I never thought that timbrè coffee is a petite coffee shop. I thought it’s a spacious one with thematic atmosphere. But, it’s actually a cosy cute coffee shop. And I love their playlists. They have one friendly barista there. And they opened early in the morning. Great place for early-birds. When I came, it was still closed. So I waited nearby the area until they were opened.

Es Kopi Susu 18k

Sweet and milky. Such a nice combination for this es kopi susu. Not too coffee, just perfect for my taste bud. And I love the layers before I shaked the coffee and milk. 🙂

Iced Chocolate 25k

Such a beautiful layers. Chocolate and milk. I don’t know why, but I love when I see layers on drinks. Looks so sexy. My hubby said that the iced chocolate wasn’t sweet. Well, for me, it was good, not too sweet with a little bitter taste from the chocolate.

Congratulations timbrè coffee. Hope to see more outlets coming.

[SINGKAWANG] Bakso Sapi Bakmi Ayam 68 at Diponegoro Singkawang

Ocotber 5th, 2017. Finally arrived at Singkawang. As usual, we had our early dinner at Bakso Sapi Bakmi Ayam 68. It’s always our ritual everytime we arrive at Singkawang. 🙂

IMG_6140

Located at the busy road in Singkawang, Bakso Sapi Bakmi Ayam 68 is always crowded with people. When I arrived, it’s not lunch time or dinner time, but there were a lot of people eating there. We had to wait for them to clear up the long table for us. Then we ordered.

IMG_6141 IMG_6142 IMG_6136 IMG_6139 IMG_6138 IMG_6144 IMG_6143 IMG_6148

Bakmi Ayam 17.5k

Actually I found it more delicious at the first time I tried this. Maybe I wasn’t too hungry. Well, it was still delicious with generous chicken and shrimp and everything. The portion of the noodle was also very big. My tummy was very full.

They have meatball soup. It was a bowl of soup and meatballs and everything else. A bowl full of happiness. The meatballs were delicious with crunchy texture. I couldn’t finish it. I let hubby to help me finish the meatball soup. 🙂

IMG_6150

Fyi, I just found out that they call the noodle with “Mi Loncat,” because they’re throwing the noodles into the bowl. It was a really good attraction. You can see it in my IG account. Video of Mi Loncat.

[MEMPAWAH] Warung Kopi Kita at Mempawah Sungai Pinyuh West Kalimantan

October 5th, 2017. From Pontianak, we continued our journey to Singkawang. It was a 3 hours trip. So, when we had chance to find food and drinks, we stopped. Our driver was a little bit sleepy I guess, he asked to stop by at Warung Kopi Kita. And we ordered food and drinks too.

IMG_6129

The place is spacious. I think a lot of people visited the place to get some rest. As i said before, trip from Pontianak to Singkawang or from Singkawang to Pontianak is around 3 hours. Anyway, they are selling coffee and snacks. I didn’t order much, but coffee and traditional snack from Kalimantan.

IMG_6128 IMG_6127 IMG_6121 IMG_6120 IMG_6119

Es Kopi Susu 10k

It was surprisingly good! The texture was rich with sweet flavour. It was really really good on a hot weather day. So, if you happen to be there, don’t forget to their their “es kopi susu.” Trust me. Worth every sip.

Peng Kang 4k

Pengkang is a signature snack from West Kalimantan that is similar to lemper, made of sticky rice, ebi and radish, in the form of triangle and wrapped in banana leaves. It was the first time I tried Peng Kang, and it’s quite alright. A new sensation of lemper. Nice!

[HOTEL] Novotel Jakarta Mangga Dua Square – Deluxe Room

December 1st, 2017 – December 3rd, 2017.

After few weeks without staycation, finally I had another one. It’s not close to my place, but not too far. We stayed at Novotel Jakarta Mangga Dua Square. It’s in Mangga Dua Square complex with other hotels. By the way, I didn’t go to Mangga Dua Square while I was in the area since I never liked to shop there. Sometimes it’s too crowded I wanted to go home right away. Hahahaha.

Dinner Time

We should be having dinner at GourmetBar. But when we called and spoke to them, they said that they didn’t know about the dinner plan. Then we had to wait for their confirmation. I called 7pm and finally we had confirmation at 8pm that they would send it to our room. Well, finally 10pm we had our dinner. Hungry tummy. They said there were miscommunication and they apologized over and over again.

We loved the food.
The fried rice was delicious with juicy prawn and chicken satay.
Rich and delicious flavour.
I gave the tenderloin to my hubby. He was very kind to cut it into cubes hahaha.
The tenderloin was addicting! Trust me.
I said to hubby, "Don't give it to me anymore. It's yours."
But everytime he fed me, I opened my mouth HAHAHAHAHA.
And those desserts! OMG! Pisang Owol. One of the best banana desserts, I guess.
It was tender and moist and sweet and delicate and fluffy and.. and.. superb!
The almond nougatine cake was soft and delish with melt-in-your-mouth texture.
I say, that was one of the best late-dinner so far.

BREAKFAST

We had breakfast on the first day at Food Exchange. The variety of the food were incredibly a lot. It was a very big place. We woke up late, so when we came to the restaurant, it was pretty crowded. But good thing, they could refill the food quite fast.

LUNCH TIME

We got a complimentary lunch time, and it was another buffet at Food Exchange. Yaaaay. The place was quite empty since not many people wanted to have lunch at hotel, right? But when I asked them, they said, there would be some people meeting there and ordered the buffet. Wow, cool right? And the food was amazingly delicious. So many food in front of me. OMG!

BREAKFAST

Since we had breakfast at Food Exchange the day before, we tried breakfast at Premier Lounge. Different kind of food, for sure. But not so many variants.  The benefit for us was that we could have our breakfast with serene and calm ambiance. And it was worth it. You can order some food on the menu, but it’s not as much as the buffet at Food Exchange. So, if you want more food, you should have breakfast at Food Exchange. But if you want to have breakfast with comfortable atmosphere and serene ambiance, please go to the Premier Lounge. Your choice.

[PONTIANAK] Nasi Akwang at Arteri Supadio Pontianak West Kalimantan

October 5th, 2017. Started my culinary journey in West Kalimantan. My plane flew to Pontianak first, then we had our lunch at Nasi Akwang. I knew about Nasi Akwang a couple days before when someone posted about their new outlet in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.

IMG_6103

It’s the nearest outlet from Supadio Airport. Since we had to go directly to Singkawang, we didn’t go to the centre of the city. Just stopped by at Nasi Akwang and enjoyed our lunch. The place is spacious, with typical chinese restaurant atmosphere. Clean restaurant with very traditional ambiance. Their menu were only nasi ayam and nasi tim.

IMG_6105 IMG_6111 IMG_6112 IMG_6109 IMG_6110 IMG_6107 IMG_6108 IMG_6106

Nasi Campur 43k

Nasi Campur Akwang is a mixed rice consisting of rice, char siew, pork sausage, roasted pork, boiled egg, pickled mustard greens, cucumber, roasted chicken/duck. And then, they drizzled the rice with thick savory broth. Not clear soup like at Nasi Campur  Jakarta. And it was super delish! The mixed of the ingredients enhanced the flavour each other.

IMG_6114

Nasi Tim 45k

When it came to my table, I didn’t see any difference from the nasi campur hahahahhahaha.. They just replaced the rice with steamed chicken rice. More savoury for sure. But similar taste with the nasi campur hahahaha..

IMG_6117

Definitely a recommended place to taste nasi campur for sure. Will be back when I’m in Pontianak.
