Pardon My French at Wahid Hasyim Jakarta

October 18th, 2017. Yup, I went to Pardon My French over two months ago. And didn’t have the urge to make the review. Well, maybe because I wasn’t impressed much there. I went at the time with Aline. When we arrived, they said that we couldn’t order the big menu. Only the small plates. Aline was quite disturbed because she called them first and asked them, and they said we can order everything on the menu. Annoying, right? Then they said that the chef hasn’t arrived yet. After the chef arrived, we could order everything.


Regardless of the previous matter, I must saying that Pardon My French is a beautiful place, dominated with blue and white colour, wooden accent, marble and golden interior. Lovely ambiance with Teddy Bear as the mascot, they caught so many hearts with the cuteness of the bear hahaha.. Before they opened, I messaged them almost every day, asking when they will open hahaha. Still, they needed to upgrade their service. When we wanted to order another drink, the person behind the bar ignored Aline when she talked to her. Hmmmph.. what a disturbing gesture. Hopefully they improve their service. Anyway, Pardon My French means that they wanna tell us, “sorry we’re not French restaurant. we’re Japanese restaurant with a touch of French.” Nice. Oh, one more, they have spacious parking lot. Cool.

Refershing drink.with sweet and sour flavour. The presentation was very beautiful. A cooling drink for hot day.


Es Kopi Susu My Mother 40k

And I still don’t know why they named it es kopi susu my mother. Made by a mom, perhaps? Well, it was good, with light texture and mild flavour. Made by coffee, milk and chocolate, it was perfect for my taste bud. *applause*

Tasted good, but the texture was too mushy. The spinach was too creamy and too soggy. I prefer they make the spinach crunchy hahaha.. Generous meat. Good!

I put high expectation to this menu. Too bad, I didn’t find any special flavour in this menu. Well, the wagyu beef was tender but needed more flavour. And the rice was tasteless. Hope they will improve the flavour.

Sunday Brunch at Keyaki Restaurant Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta

October 29th, 2017. I got invitation to Keyaki Restaurant at Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta mid October, but didn’t try the food since I had to be elsewhere. So, we arrange a Sunday Brunch there. I asked Aline and Cindy to join me. Yaaaaay.


Indulge in an authentic Japanese dining experience at Keyaki Japanese Restaurant, where exquisite Japanese cuisine is served in traditional fashion at Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta. The restaurant’s robatayaki dishes consist of the freshest, most succulent seafood that is directly imported from Japan. Watch as chefs masterfully grill your food then pair it with their signature sauce right in front of your eyes. Other must-haves include the Gindara Zen (Gindara fish grilled to crispy perfection while still moist and tender inside), Mix Kinoko Foil (a delicious mushroom soup) and Jyu Jyu Beef (a vegetable and premium beef hotpot).

Sunday Brunch started from 11am to 2.30pm. It was my first time trying the food there. Years ago, my friend told me that according to her, Keyaki was the best Japanese restaurant. And that day I could prove it. The weekend buffet is available at 345k++ per person. Wow, should be good, right?

The weekend lunch buffet at Keyaki Japanese Restaurant offers an authentic Japanese spread with an extensive range of healthy and delicious Japanese dishes. You can enjoy classic Japanese items including sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, agemono, mushimono, donburi, tempura, soba and udon noodles, Japanese curry and more. We also offer a delicious and decadent selection of desserts for those with a sweet tooth.

The place wasn’t very spacious, but it was quite regularly in the placement of the buffet menus. Beautiful preparation and friendly people, made me very comfortable there. They were also very helpful when we wanted to take photos of the food. What a lovely experience there. I tried almost all the food. From sushi, teriyaki, sukiyaki and desserts.

My favourite was the sukiyaki. OMG! Marvelous! And the seafood were so fresh! All the seafood. No wonder my friend told me that it was the best Japanese restaurant since forever. Kudos Keyaki!

Agneya Restaurant at Wijaya Dharmawangsa Jakarta

December 7th, 2017. I knew about Agneya Restaurant around November when they just opened. So when I had a chance to visit the new place, I was very happy. We almost missed the place. Then I realized, it was previously a restaurant with bird cages in front of the place. Turned out that restaurant was closed, and Agneya replaced it.


I loved their facade. Beautiful with warm atmosphere. When I came in, I saw more beautiful corners inside. A host greeted me, and I asked her that is it ok to take photos there. And she said, “No, you can’t.” I was a little bit shocked. Then she said, “I will ask the owner. Just wait.” After a while, a man, maybe the manager, approached me and asked. I said, “I want to take photos for my blog. My personal blog.” He said, “You have to make an appointment first. I need to see the letter, something like agreement letter.” I was super shocked. “It’s just for my blog, sir.” Then, when he saw that I wanted to leave asap, he replied, “Ok you can take photos, but please don’t bother other people.” It was just us! No other customers at the time. Please deh! *rolling my eyes* And I never bother anybody when I took photos. Good thing, the servers were all nice and friendly. I felt welcomed.

We told them that we didn’t want a spicy tahu telor. We always got a spicy one, though we always told the people to make it not spicy. But this time, hooraaaaaaay, no spicy tahu telor! Well, maybe a lil bit. Just a lil bit. But, even, my hubby said it wasn’t spicy at all. And it was delicious. I was afraid they will give us “pecel sauce.” Good thing it wasn’t hahaha.. It’s really peanut sauce. So happy! We were practically fighting over the food LOL.

Nasi Goreng Ayam 76k

signature fried rice with chicken and egg baked under crispy cover, shallots and spices

Unique presentation. They put the fried rice in a big bowl, then an egg on top of the fried rice. Btw I ordered half-cooked sunny side up. And they failed to do that. I got cooked sunny side up. If it’s beef, I got the well-done instead of medium well. LOL. But I was too lazy to complaint at the time. Well, they put those rice and egg under crispy cover. Great thing, the fried rice was delicious. We were too full, so I took away the dish. After hours, I ate the rest of the rice, and it was still super good. Nice job Agneya.

MISE Jakarta at Bo Concept Building Wahid Hasyim Menteng Jakarta

November 10th, 2017. Someone told me about MISE. So, I stalked their IG account since September. They said, “We will open around October.” Yaaaaay. Then, I forgot about them. LOL. Pardon my brain. Hahaha. Mid October, “You open yet? You open yet? You open yet?” Wow, they were very patient with me. November 5th, they replied me, “Yes, we will have soft opening for INVITATION only.” And they sent me the invitation. YAAAAAY!


The establishment occupied the second level of Bo Concept Building. It’s very easy to find. Use your maps or waze, and voilà. The place isn’t very spacious but very lovely. Classic ambiance caught my eyes right away. And my favourite thing was the hanging light, or you can say minimalist chandelier? LOL.

Wow! Salad with gyutan. Wow! It was really good, my hubby told me that he wanted to finish it. And, yes, he never liked salad. It was that good! The gyutan was tender and juicy. The wakame and horenzo were so fresh, it didn’t feel like we ate vegetables. *hmmmm*

My hubby ate this one first, and he said, “OMG! It’s so good!” And I couldn’t agree more. When the truffle pomme puree burst in your mouth, you will feell foodgasm right away! The pulled duck was delicious also. Loved the pai tee.

Pie Tee is a thin and crispy pastry tart shell kuih filled with a spicy, sweet mixture of thinly sliced vegetables and prawns. It is a popular Peranakan dish. The shells are made of flour and though some stores will make them from scratch, they can usually be found ready made in most supermarkets. Similar to popiah, the main filling is shredded Chinese turnips and carrots, and usually these two dishes are sold by the same stall in hawker centres.

I found the escargot a little bit chewy. It’s spicy, so my hubby didn’t try it at all. They put a small bite of shrimp in it. Such a nice boost in the pai tee. I didn’t really fond of the pacri pineapple. But if you like pineapple in a dish, you’ll find it interesting.

Beautiful presentation. I couldn’t stop taking photos of the dish. It’s cold when I finally tried it hahahaha. Hubby didn’t wanna try the dish since it was full of sambal. LOL. I think it’s similar with sambal matah. Tasted like sambal matah, actually, but I didn’t really ask them. Love the texture of the tuna tataki. It must be cooked outside and raw inside. What a lovely texture. The angel hair was a little bit al dente texture, but I still loved it.

Juicy and tender beef patty with delicious salsa rosa sauce. The texture of the bun was perfect. But, I wasn’t in a mood for burger, so I let hubby to finish it. I prepared my tummy for their other dishes. LOL.

When it came to our table, I thought, “It looks dry! Hmmm..” But when hubby ate it, he said to me, “OMG! It’s soooo tender and juicy and delicious.” Hahahaha.. I was told that the chef was from a familiar restaurant. And she was very good in this kind of dish. COOL! Trust me, you must try this one when you come to MISE. Super recommended! *pssst don’t forget to ask for extra lawar.. superb!*

For me, it’s the best Prawn Laksa so far! And I wasn’t exaggerating. Truly my honest opinion. The broth was well-seasoned with rich texture. The udon was soft. Such a winner! My hubby didn’t try it at all. So, I planned to finish it half portion, since it must be too much if I ate one full bowl, right? At the end, it was empty. *sigh* I was crazy about it, I didn’t leave anything in the bowl. LOL.

Mendjangan at Kemang Jakarta

September 8th, 2017. I knew about Mendjangan from Billy’s IG. Apparently, they hired Billy to be their opening team. Great job, Bil! So, when they opened, I took the time to stop by. It was very easy for me to find the place. Just looked for flower boards all over the area.


Located at Kemang Raya street, it’s previously a house, now a restaurant with gorgeous interior and lovely pool. When I came in, I was stunned. Their facade is totally beautiful. They also have a coffee bar. I believe that they’re very serious with their coffee. Then, after their dining area, you can go to outdoor area for smoking. And you also can go to another outdoor area to see their swimming pool. It must be fun, right? You can bring your kids and your family. Lunch with a pool view. Amazing.

Ada Dining at Ruko Golden 8 Gading Serpong Tangerang

June 27th, 2017. Before our staycation at Gading Serpong, we drove around to find a nice place to have our lunch. Then I remember that Ada Dining opened 11am today. So I directed my hubby to the place.


Ada Dining opened 1 month ago. I knew about the opening, but since it’s far away from my place, I couldn’t come sooner. So when I got a chance to stay at Gading Serpong, I asked my hubby to visit the place. It’s a really nice place. Simple decoration with black and white seat. When we arrived, a friendly face greeted us. It’s the owner and also the chef. I knew that we were in good hands, after I saw knives at the kitchen hahaha..

Love the texture of the mashed potato and the beef patty. And of course the perfect sunny side up! OMG! But, I told them that the gravy was a little bit bland. Just a little bit. It’s ok for me, since I didn’t eat salty food since a long time ago. But maybe for some people, they need to put a little seasonings. Maybe. LOL. I think I need more mashed potato haahhahaa..

This was my hubby’s order. It’s rice with bulgogi on top and sunny side up. Dayum! The bulgogi was tender and juicy. Well-seasoned and flavourful. I will order this one again when I come back to this place. Addictive and super duper recommended. Trust me! No lebay! LOL.
