Unveiling The All-New Pearl Chinese Restaurant at JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta

September 20th, 2017. JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta introduced the new face of one of their restaurant, Pearl Chinese Restaurant. Located on the second floor and dominated by golden red color, this restaurant is now coming back by presenting a typical Chinese cuisine with Modern Cantonese nuances. I went to Pearl with Aline, Cindy and Vania. 🙂

Known as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Jakarta, Pearl Chinese Restaurant offers a variety of Modern Cantonese culinary created by Executive Chinese Chef, Chef Ken Choy Chong Hung. In addition to the a la carte menu, Pearl also has an attractive dimsumlicious all-you-can-eat dimsum promotion where guests can order more than 40 Chinese dishes ranging from soups, appetizers, dimsum, main courses to desserts. This promotion is valid every Sunday, from 10.30 to 14.30 for 280k including free-flow chinese tea.

Dragons on the carpet. That’s definitely a strong character. Hahaha. Yes, I’m a dragon. That’s why I loved Pearl so very much. The place is still have the same ambiance with the previous Pearl. It didn’t lose its elegance touch.

Caramelized Wild Salmon 118k

The presentation was very beautiful. Love the colour of the salmon. They put pomelo on top of the salmon. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful and delicious salmon dish I’ve ever had. The texture of the salmon was tender and mild. The taste was also very light. Perfect for a starter in our lovely lunch.

Hand Made Mango Prawn Ball 138k

Our second dish. Also beautiful. 6 pieces of mango prawn ball, looked exactly like quail eggs. Tasted so good with the delicious combination of mango and prawn. We’re actually fighting for the prawn ball. LOL. It’s really THAT good.

Iberico Pork Ribs with Butter and Pepper 188k

When it came to our table, I was tempted by the aroma. It was beautiful and delicious at the same time. The pork ribs were tender and juicy. Buttery and Peppery. It’s very rich, succulent cut with flavorful ribbons of fat and meat. Super recommended!

Iberico pork is a Spanish culinary treasure, amongst the finest pork in the world.  While iberico is best known for the famous slow-aged hams, the other cuts are succulent, moist & delicious.  This iberico pork is raised free range on traditional Spanish pastures known as dehesas.

Water King Prawn with Egg Noodles 168k

When I got home, I just realized that I didn’t take photos of the egg noodles hahaha. Sorry ganks. I was amazed by the water king prawn, actually. It was tantalizing. The prawn was juicy and perfectly cooked. The bold, sweet, firm-textured meat overpowered the egg noodles. *yeaaah rite* Actually the egg noodles’ texture was too al-dente for me. I prefer the silkier egg noodles.

Foie Gras Peking Duck with Pearl Rice 168k

Whoaaaa.. you should try this one. Actually, when Aline tried this one, she said that she wanted to keep it in her mouth for a day. She didn’t wanna swallow it. It’s TOO GOOD! And I said, “Gross!!!” But, when I tried it, I wanted to do the same. HAHAHAHA! Well, the foie gras, the peking duck, the pearl rice. OMG. Melt in your mouth. Umami!!!

Tong Po Belly 118k

It’s always good to see a pork belly dish just like my mom’s homemade dish. Ugh I miss my mom so very much. Well, back to the pork belly. It’s a little bit too sweet for me, but I asked for more rice, to lighten the sweet from the pork belly. LOL. What a nice excuse to add more rice hahahahaha.. Well, the meat was tender and juicy, but I prefer the skin of the pork belly softer, since it’s a little bit chewy. Just a little bit. But other than that, it’s super fine.

Chicken Sauteed with Black Bean in Clay Pot 108k

I adored the claypot. It’s beautiful. Well, it’s not special, but I loved the colour of it. In the claypot: a tender chicken meat with a strong flavour of black pepper. It’s addicting, but Azka *Cindy’s son* couldn’t stand the spicy taste.
