July 17th, 2017. I went to Kokoro Mazesoba soft opening on June 4th, 2017, at Grand Indonesia. It’s still soft opening, and the mural hasn’t finished yet. I didn’t take many photos there. So, when they opened the second branch in Gandaria City, I asked my brother to have lunch there.
Kokoro Maze-soba literally translates to Maze-soba from my heart and soul. Tokyo Maze-soba is a delicious noodle dish with a main (although there are some other choices) topping called “minci” in Japan which is minced meat seasoned with soy sauce, red pepper and garlic. Some other toppings are green onions, garlic chives, fresh garlic, dried fish grits and egg yolk. The Kokoro menu was created by Takuma Ishikawa, Japanese chef and founder of the brand.
I love the murals. I felt like in Japan. *hahaha I never went to Japan* But the atmosphere was very Japan with amazing murals and wooden furnitures. No wonder it’s almost packed that afternoon.
When the bowl of Maze Soba arrives to your table mix the noodle thoroughly with the toppings and egg until all of them are completely coated with the egg, sauce and the rest of the ingredients. After you have finished your delicious noodles, let us offer you “Oimeshi” (a spoonful of freshly steamed white rice to mix with your remaining sauce). It’s te perfect final touch for a delicious and hearty meal. Itadakimasu!

Tokyo Mazesoba, Japanese sauces, Char Siu slices, lots of fresh green onion, fresh garlic chives, dried nori, fresh garlic, pickled bamboo shoots, spicy minci, dried fish powder, extra nori sheets and first quality Japanese omega egg.
Super duper recommended. It’s the most complete bowl, I guess. If you want a classic type, you shouldn’t order this one, because it’s not classic at all. It’s definitely will make your tummy so full. The char siu slices were very good. Mix them all together in one bowl, and it became one bowl of happiness.

Tokyo Mazesoba, special homemade Japanese sauces, fresh green onion, fresh garlic chives, dried nori, fresh minced garlic, spicy minci, dried fish powder and first quality Japanese omega egg yolk.
It’s my brother’s order. When I saw the presentation, I imagined a meadow hahaha.. It’s good, but there’s no char siu at all, only minced meat. It’s still good, but I prefer to have char siu in my soba LOL.
Great job Kokoro Mazesoba. Definitely a keeper.
