July 3rd, 2017. I heard about Bo & Bun since they opened in Jakarta. It’s actually a Vietnamese cuisine opened in Bali 3 years ago. Then they opened their second branch in Jakarta.
Bo & Bun is an Asian Eatery heavily based on Vietnamese cooking with romantic French bistro dining décor. Established in September 2014, Bo & Bun has been successful in creating exotic flavors from all over Asia with fresh local grown produce and quality ingredients. In order to be a great establishment, we believe in providing only the best dining experiences from every aspect.
I went to Bo & Bun with my sister and my two nephews. We were having fun at the day, since she didn’t go to office hahaha. I told her that I wanted to try Bo & Bun and they were all agree. Yaaaaay, first timer. Well, the place was nice. But, I didn’t find it a thematic one. Just an ordinary restaurant.
Our kitchen members make sure every item on the menu comes out perfect every single time. Our front of the house dedicate their time and energy to make sure the entire customer’ needs and demands are being met. At Bo & Bun, we carefully pick and choose our menu items to deliver exotic flavors to your table. Our chef only serves the food he loves to cook and eat. We are not trying to serve you everything we can cook, but we want to make sure the food on your plate gets you planning your next trip to Bo & Bun.
Iced Tea Black 20k
Iced Lemon Tea 25k
Thai Iced Tea 35k
Bao Gao Pork Belly 65k (2 pcs)
Twice cooked pork belly on steamed buns with crushed peanuts, pickled cucumbers, hoisin sauce, fresh coriander and chilli.
We chose this one for starter. Actually I saw it at Hans’ blog hahahaha.. Totally drooling when I saw the photo. And we’re very happy with the flavour. I really love the texture of the bun. So soft and fluffy. What about the pork belly? It’s tender and juicy. It’s one of their signature dish.
Thai Fish Cakes 55k ( 4 pcs)
Pounded red Snapper fillets, kaffir lime leaves, snake beans, red curry paste, and Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce.
It’s flavour and well-seasoned. A little bit chewy on the texture. But, I loved it! Well, a good thai fish cakes must be well-seasoned and have firm, bouncy texture.
The 12 Hour Pho 90k (limited daily supply)
Beef broth, sliced tenderloin, sliced beef shanks, beef meatballs, rice noodles, coriander stems, sliced onions, side of fresh bean sprouts, chili, Thai basil and lime.
Saw this on Hans’ blog also. LOL. Yes, I am one of his biggest fans. Well, the presentation was very beautiful. Pho is one of must-try dish in Vietnamese cuisine. For a 12-hours-cooked pho, this one was very flavourful, and the key to the Vietnamese noodle soup pho is in the broth. The meat was tender and juicy. Recommended!
Thank you Bo & Bun for making our day a delicious one. Yippy!!
