Padang Merdeka at Pinangsia Kota Tua Jakarta

April 12th, 2017. I saw this place everywhere in IG. It made me very curious. Is it that good? And the time has arrived for me to try this one. Actually, my friends and I had another event to go to Bogor, but one circumstance lead to another, and we had to cancel it. But, Aline already took leave, so why don’t we spend it wisely. Padang Merdeka.

Located at the road side of Kota Tua, it’s very easy to find it. I saw in a review from a blogger *I don’t remember the blog* said that the Padang Merdeka was a little bit hidden. Well, it’s not hidden at all. The logo is very huge in their facade. Literally huge. So, it’s not hidden at all hahaha. If you know BNI Kota, it’s on the opposite road. You can park your car in BNI, and walking across the road to reach Padang Merdeka. Or you can park at the back of Padang Merdeka. It’s quite big for a parking lot. Ok, let’s talk about the place inside. You will find beautiful murals about Indonesia. There’re Indonesian heroes, Toraja batik patterns, and map of Indonesia on their ceiling. *Pssst.. I forgot to take photo of the map. But you can see it when you are there.* It really takes a padang restaurant to another level.

They served the food just like typical Padang restaurant. Several menus displayed on the table. And we just took what we want. They have Ayam Pop, Perkedel, Dendeng Batokok, Kikil Gulai, Ayam Goreng, Gulai Otak, Paru, Beef Rendang, etc. And my favourite were Ayam Pop, Perkedel and Tunjang. Their Ayam Pop 19.5k was very tasty with rich flavour and amazing texture. Tender and well-seasoned. Their Perkedel 12k was one of the best perkedel I guess. Bold texture with delicious taste. Kikil Gulai 21k was definitely a must menu that you have to try at Padang Merdeka. It’s tender and superb. With that price, you will get a big one. And.. I totally forgot to try their Beef Rendang. OMG! Actually, my hubby is a rendang’s lover. So, well I guess I should be back to Padang Merdeka, asked him to join me. Soon, definitely.
