William’s Casual Dining at Tulodong Atas SCBD Jakarta

September 11th, 2017. I heard a month ago about William’s from Teddy, owner of Nitro Coffee. It belonged to his cousin, I think. Then the day before, Hans sent me the photo of William’s from someone’s Instagram. I asked him, Aline and Cindy to visit the place this afternoon. Too bad, Hans and Cindy had another event. So today only Aline joined me.


Serving food, coffee and wine daily, William’s offers a thoughtful menu homage to Western-Asian comfort food in a laidback place located in the heart of Jakarta’s central business district.

When I was arrived, I was speechless. The facade of William’s was very lovely. It’s not intimidating but still exclusive. Very lovely with green plants everywhere. But, when you came in, you will feel another ambiance. It’s warm and very friendly. And I really love their hospitality. Even the Chef was very humble. I asked them why they named it William’s. It’s actually the name of the owner’s son. He loves to eat. He eats all the time *high-five kiddo* and his name is William. He’s 10 years old, fyi. I wanna meet him!!!

William’s was inspired by a kid who has a constant curiosity for new food, appreciates a warm, hearty meal and always has room for dessert.

Black Tea, Apple, Candied Pineapple, Orange Peel, Sweet Blackberry Leaves, White Hibiscus Blossoms, Peach, Lychee

Actually I didn’t really like flavour tea for my hot tea. I mean, it’s not really flavour. It’s just a hint of fruis or flowers etcetera etcetera. But this time I took best shot. And it was very good. Fresh flavour with light texture of the tea. I loved it!

Peanut Butter Smoothie 55k

Peanut Butter, Banana, Milk, Vanilla Cream

This Peanut Butter Smoothie was very very delicious. Perfect texture. Not overly creamy. Just the right amount of cream. Really love the combination between peanut butter and banana. Beware! It’s addicting!



Arancini 90k

Italian fried rice balls served with Arrabiata sauce, melted parmesan and watercress salad

It’s actually a risotto in a form of croquette LOL. Coated in golden crumbs, each fried rice ball holds a treasure of gooey mozzarella. Too bad, the risotto tasted a little bland. We need more flavour! The Arrabiata sauce was fantastic. But if you want to taste more flavour, you must ask them to prepare the sauce a little bit more.

Popcorn Chicken Coated With Salted Egg 55k

A tasty, crispy way to enjoy juicy chicken meat. The salted egg enhanced the flavour of this popcorn chicken. Sadly, it’s too spicy for me. I only ate 2 pieces and I gave up. I let Aline finish the dish with sparkling eyes. Yes, she really loved it. So, I guess next time I go there, I must tell them to make it non-spicy. 😀

Ossobucco Barley 160k

Braised ossobucco with a bed of barley, garlic butter and fried enoki mushroom

Good thing, Aline loved the barley. Yaaaaay, I could eat all of the succulent ossobucco hahahaha.. Actually, after a while, the texture of the meat became a lil bit dry. So I suggest for you to finish it before it’s getting cold. The fried enoki mushroom complemented a little touch of crunchy texture to the dish. Well, I’m drooling while writing about this ossobucco. Superb!

Ossobucco: Italian for “bone with a hole” (osso bone, buco hole), a reference to the marrow hole at the center of the cross-cut veal shank.

Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), a member of the grass family, is a major cereal grain grown in temperate climates globally.

Duck Aiguillettes 160k

Imported duck breast served with romaine lettuce foam, sweet potato puree, sauteed vegetables, king oyster mushroom and red wine sauce

Thoughtful presentation leads to a more enjoyable meal. Duck Aiguillettes means thinly sliced duck fillet. But they cut the duck not too thin, evidently. Quite thick for me. They have a comparably lighter color than other duck cuts and have a milder flavor. And they cooked the duck in medium-well level. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the most delicious way, according to the chef. Fine with me. I love ducks no matter how they cook it. The sweet potato puree make a wonderful contrast to the buttery and tasty duck. Super recommended!

Eton Mess 90k

Beautiful mess of assorted seasonal fruits, roast coconut flakes, fried bubur sumsum and meringue

While everybody ordered Dragon’s Nest, we tried Eton Mess. I was trying not to be mainstream hahaha.. Actually it’s really a beautiful mess. Love the way they present the dessert. Sour flavour from the fruits. Of course it’s not my thing. But they combined the fruits with meringue. OMG! Cute meringues everywhere. The special guest was the fried bubur sumsum. It’s really good. You should give it a try.

Thank you so much William’s for the hospitality. For a new place, William’s really offered a comfortable casual ambiance. Quite pricey but worth to try. Well, you don’t have to eat there everyday, right? Just give it a go. In fact, I think I will be back to try their coffee. Anyone wanna join me?

For the burgers, my favourite was the Guiness® Bacon Cheeseburger.
Well, always love cheeseburger. And now I'm craving for it. LOL.
Don't forget the Local Legendary - Rendang Burger. Super love!
The other burgers were also good, but some burgers were spicy. Not my kind of burgers.

Mr. Fox at The Energy Building SCBD Sudirman Jakarta

August 8th, 2017. I was in the middle of nothing to do when I remember that I wanted to go to Mr. Fox. It’s a new establishment from Ismaya Group. Some of my friends went there before it’s opened for public. That’s why I was very curious about the place. So that afternoon, I ordered online car and went there.


A comfortable place with lots of plants greeted me when I came inside Mr. Fox. There’s bar on the right side. I was surprised when one of the server recognized me since he saw me once in a while at Social House LOL. Great to know, right? I was alone so I took the table on some corner. Near the window, not too bright but quite ok for taking some photos.

It was so pretty with purple colour. Tasted delicious too. Very refreshing. Such a thirst-quenching. It’s not too sour, not too sweet. Just an excellent mocktail.

Crispy Pork Belly 155k

Delicious crispy pork belly. The skin was crunchy crispy crackling. The pork belly was tender moist and super juicy. I think I need warm rice to keep it company. The potato puree was very good. Love the texture, but I know that I needed rice instead of potato puree. I took the pork belly home, and my hubby was in love with it.

Sunday Brunch at Pacific Restaurant & Lounge The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place

June 18th, 2017. Finally, I visited Pacific Restaurant & Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place. It’s literally my first time. I went there with Michael, Aline, Fachmi, Alesha, Cindy and Alex. And we’re having so much fun at the Sunday Brunch.


Pacific Restaurant & Lounge, located on the sixth floor, offers a daily buffet selection with Asian and local specialties; the buffet offers hand-crafted creations in grazing portions with an array of appetizers and signature items, like Wagyu beef, lobster and oysters, roast meats, international and pan-Asian dishes will compete for your attention. Our offering strives to source ingredients mostly from Indonesia to maximize freshness, support local farmers and growers. A la carte service is also available; the menu is inspired by the Indonesian cuisine with a modern twist. The menu celebrates the farmers and food artisans of Indonesia and is available during lunch and dinner.

The place was very humble. It’s friendly with great hospitality. I think everybody wanted to help us with everything. Even the boss greeted us modestly. The food looked not-so-much variants, but when we started to eat, it’s like, “omg! i haven’t eat that. i haven’t eat this! i haven’t try that. i haven’t try this!” So many variants!

Old Street Bak Kut Teh at Pacific Place Jakarta

May 29th, 2017. I was in Pacific Place and needed my lunch right away. I remembered that my sister told me about a bak kut teh place on 4th floor. So I made up my mind and tried Old Street Bak Kut Teh for lunch.


Founded in 2010, Old Street pride itself to be the local specialist in the well-loved traditional herbal pork ribs soup. Its unique East meets West approach, with its own special creation like the Old Street Dry Bak Kut Teh, freshly made You Tiao, modular extendable table with induction cooktop and iPad ordering, not only differentiated itself from competition, but also offer consumers a taste and dining experience like never before.

The place was quite spacious with very comfortable dining area. I was alone before someone came and had lunch there too. Yaaaay.. a companion hahaha

I loved the texture of the meat, but I didn’t really like the broth. Too bad, huh? The You Tiao also was too soft, I prefer it will be crunchier. But I love the rice and the beancurd. Perfect texture. Maybe next time I will order the premium one.

BirdMan at 18 Parc Place SCBD Sudirman Jakarta

June 6th, 2017. I heard about this new place from a friend. Then, I stalked their instagram, and very very curious. So, I planned to visit BirdMan as soon as possible, since I loved Japanese cuisine. Lucky me, I had a chance to visit while they’re having transitional menu this week from 3pm to 5pm. When my friends asked me, I told them that I wanted to try BirdMan. They insisted to join me. *rolling my eyes*


Located in SCBD area, BirdMan is very easy to find. Me and my friends walked from our previous venue to BirdMan. It’s only walking-distance. BirdMan isn’t too spacious. It’s also not too small. It’s just perfect for a Modern Japanese gastropub. Love the marble tables all over the place *wink wink* 😉 I could imagine those foodies will crawl all over the place hahaha.. Warm ambiance with friendly gesture from the people. Well, let’s look around the place before the dishes.

Sliced Gyutan, Kimchi Mayo 92k

Beef tongue with kimchi mayo as the dip sauce. Tasted so good with impeccable texture. It’s not too chewy and not too delicate. It’s only too perfect. A taste you will never forget. That savoury smell and unique texture can be very addictive. Well, next time I will order warm rice to keep the gyutan a company.

The word gyūtan is a combination of the Japanese word for cow ( gyū) and the English word tongue.

Okonomiyaki 85k

Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. This time they’re using pork and seafood for the filling. OMG! It’s really really good. Very beautiful presentation with life-changing flavour LOL. Yes, it was that good. Hahaha. Literally translated as “fried stuff you like”, okonomiyaki is one of Japan’s classic food. It’s my favourite food also. Fyi, if you don’t eat pork, you just told them to change the ingredients to “only seafood.”

Crispy Chicken Namban 52k

It’s similar with chicken karaage. They presented it with skewers. I think this was my first time trying chicken namban. It’s also my first time heard about “namban.” It’s a chicken cutlet that has a crunchy, breaded texture with a light sweet glaze on the outside, served with creamy sauce. It’s really delicious. Super recommended.

Pork Katsu 160k

They served the pork katsu with 2 kind of sauces. Choose whichever you like. The pork katsu was delicious and flavourful, but I prefer that they thicker the meat, not the skin. The choice is yours whether to dip or drizzle the sauce over the pork katsu. Another recommended one. But next time I think I will order the pork katsu don.
