Hoshino Tea Time at Menara BTPN Mega Kuningan Jakarta

August 30th, 2017. I had invitation at five star hotel around Mega Kuningan, so before the event, I went to Hoshino Tea Time first. It’s located at Menara BTPN Mega Kuningan.


Since Taiwan is famous for their tea culture, our mission is to bring and introduce our world famous tea to Indonesia so that our customers can enjoy the unique taste and experience of Taiwan. The word Hoshino is taken from the family name of the third generation of Ten Ren’s Tea family tree. Ten Ren’s Tea has many different brands of café throughout the world. With dreams of bringing Ten Ren’s tea to every part of the world, we are now available in Indonesia as Hoshino Tea Time, operated by Ten Ren’s Tea Japan. The Ten Ren Group is currently the biggest Chinese tea brand in the world with more than 2000 stores worldwide, such as in China, Hong Kong, Macau, North America, Canada, Australia, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and now available in Indonesia.

I saw about Hoshino from my IG timeline. I was very curious about the tea. They have outdoor and indoor area. I definitely chose to sit inside. I met the owner, a very nice person. He told me that he wanted to introduce tea to everybody. What an honour idea, right?

Surprisingly it’s really good. Delicious flavour with creamy and milky texture. Addicting.


Fried Shumai 32k

It’s surprisingly good. Crispy skin with tender meat inside. Recommended!


Teriyaki Chicken Bowl 43k

I tried this teriyaki chicken bowl and I was stunned with the delicious sauce and tender chicken. Actually I finished the bowl so quick, I forgot to remove the vegetables. I ate them all. And the bowl was very full, it made my tummy full too.

Anomali Coffee at Setiabudi One Rasuna Said Setiabudi Jakarta

August 7th, 2017. 2 months ago, I went to Anomali Coffee at Setiabudi One. Actually, I’ve been there several times, but lately it’s always full.


I came to Anomali to try their latest menus. Well, Anomali Coffee is not only famous for its coffee but also for its delicious food. Every time I went there and ordered the food, I was very happy. The place is also comfortable. For coffee, for lunch and for me-time. And then, they created new menus.

There’s nothing could beat an old school recipe, we proudly dish up a mouth-watering siomay from way back then that bring back a childhood memories, just douse it with chili vinegar in an ancient way.

This meal is a winner, primarily comes from East Java, simply adjusted from the prominent one “RAWON SOUP”, the black substance of Kluwek in the ingredients gives a new meaning toward Surabaya’s local pride.

The legendary meals from North Sulawesi has bring all the way to our kitchen, revealed the rice of exciting yet unique flavours of Roa fish that originate from Manadonese. Most wanted pasta with scrumptious ingredients, as it contain a strong spice and richness of Roa fish.

Infinite indulgence in a heart-warming food. This creamy salted pasta, fulfil with roasted garlic, chicken and ended up with a perfection of finest salted egg yolks, undeniably delish yet dashing pasta.

I tried them all and my favourite was Rawon Fried Rice. Super recommended!
The Roa Fish Pasta was too spicy.
The Egg Salted Pasta needed a stronger flavour on the salted egg.
Well, next time I will try their other menus.

Business Lunch at Lobo Restaurant The Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan Jakarta

August 30th, 2017. I was invited to Lobo Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta. Evidently, now they have Business Lunch on weekdays.

Last year, Lobo Restaurant, The Ritz-Carton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan was very proud to welcome Chef Jan Schwittalla on board as the restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine. The Chef with Michelin-starred headed the culinary team of the Restaurant and Lounge which is located in the hotel’s lobby, where he crafts stand out French-inspired gastronomic creations to delight Jakarta’s most discerning gourmands.

“With the creativity and experience in a Michelin-starred restaurant, Chef Jan will set to elevate Lobo’s dining experience to new heights and of course bring back the love for Lobo among fine culinary lovers” said Rudolph Blattler, hotel’s Executive Chef. The German born Chef’s gastronomic journey has taken him to some of the most exquisite restaurants from Germany to his Michelin-starred restaurant in Bordeaux, France.

Well, they wanna show to people that Michelin Star dishes are very affordable. Yaaaay. So below I will share to you what the Business Lunch looked like. Hope you enjoy the simple review.

After I tried all of the menu, I had my favourite right away.
The bouillabaisse caught my heart all of a sudden with the flavour and the texture.
The black crab bisque was a little too salty for me. And I prefer more crab meat hahaha.
Well, everybody loved the black forest, but I prefer it to be sweeter LOL.
For the amuse bouche, pre-appetizer and pre-dessert, we all loved them.

Up in Smoke at RDTX Tower Kuningan Jakarta

August 11th, 2017. I heard about Up in Smoke on my birthday. I knew they will open on July 20th. Since I had another events, I didn’t take my time to visit the place. And along with the time, I totally forgot about it.. until Aline told me about their lunch promo. Ok, let’s go there.


At first, I thought it replaced the previous restaurant that closed around 2 or 3 months ago. Turned out, it’s totally a new location. The place is managing 2 restaurants. Up in Smoke (open at 11:00) and One Eyed’s Jack (open at 17:30). So that day, we only tried Up in Smoke. It was a really nice place to have lunch with friends. Quite huge for a restaurant. We were so lucky that we could see the smoke gears because they have this open kitchen area. They alsoe have 2 semi-private area. Cool. On the right side, they have bar area for those who wanna have some drinks only.

Since it’s specialized in a “smoke” dish, we tried this smoked brisket sandwich. I love the burger bun. Soft and tender. And the brisket was juicy with a great hint of smokey texture. The cabbage was in a perfect portion, not too much. And I couldn’t stop eating the potato crisp. Yum.

Another “smoked” dish. It’s super duper good. I was happy when it came to my table. It’s beautiful in presentation with aromatic fragrant. I was literally drooling before I tried the dish. And when I finally tried the dish, I experienced chickgasm. LOL. Juicy and tender meat, with delightful taste from the sauce. OMG. I demanded another portion hahahaha.. Good thing that Aline never liked drumstick chicken hohoho.. *clap my hands*

Super love! Always love banana. Mixed it with salted caramel and brown butter. Super super delicious. The texture of the cream was astounding. Super moist, delicate and fluffy. Sexy combo between the banana and the salted caramel. It’s big portion, but we could finish our bowls without a blink. Recommended dessert to wrap-up our lovely lunch.

[EVENT] Aperitivo at the Lobby Lounge Gran Melia Jakarta

August 3rd, 2017. I was invited to Gran Melia Jakarta. They’re having this event called Aperitivo. I came early because I wanted to take photos first, before the crowd came. But when I came, they’re still doing the arrangements. It’s fun to see them. So I waited until they’re ready and started to take photos with the other foodies.


For a piece of a time-honored culinary tradition – Aperitivo history – and a design centric but friendly crowd at the Lobby Lounge, guests will definitely come back to enjoy the warm evening at Gran Melia Jakarta. The flavours, the aromas, the colors, the smile, they are all part of moments in Lobby Lounge Gran Melia Jakarta. I was amazed by their brevity when preparing the aperitivo. Every single detail. It’s beautiful. I just knew that aperitivo is like a starter or appetizer, before eating main course. It used to be cheese and wine. But nowadays there’s food too, just like my photos below.

The aperitivo also consist of a large collection of Antipasto including Arancini, Parmesan wheel, Grissini, Baguette, Giant Lavosh to fine range of cold cuts and grilled vegetables, experience an absolute bargain of sumptuous Aperitivo, a-not-to-be missed Italian tradition.

July 26th, 2017. When I met my cousin and his wife on Monday, they asked me to have dinner with them at Henshin, The Westin Jakarta. Well, since it’s new – opened July 20th – I said yes, tout de suite. So, finally I was in Henshin. Hooray!!


Set to be a game changer for Jakarta dining scene is Henshin, The Westin Jakarta’s standout rooftop restaurant. Perched on the top three floors of the building, the Japanese-Peruvian restaurant features Nikkei Cuisine infused with exotic Peruvian flavors prepared by Chef Hajime Kasuga. Aside from a restaurant overlooking the city lights, Henshin also boasts an alfresco rooftop bar featuring specialty cocktails crafted by expert mixologists. Wherever your day takes you, rest assured that you can end your night on a high note with a picturesque dining experience at Henshin rooftop bar and lounge, where you will be treated with Japanese-Peruvian favorites and eclectic drinks as you take in stunning views of Jakarta.

From GF floor at The Westin Jakarta, we were escorted to an exclusive elevator directly accessed to 67th floor, the bar and lounge. A different kind of atmosphere from the elegance of the hotel to the lively ambiance. You can choose the indoor or the alfresco bar and lounge there. Such a lovely place to relax and loosen up. Then we went to 69th floor, to see 2-private-rooms, for 12 guests and 20 guests. After that, we finally moved to 68th floor, where we wanted to have our dinner tonight.

love the salmon. the combination of tiger’s milk, chili panca sauce and wasabi cream were overwhelming. tiger’s milk is the Peruvian term for the citrus-based marinade that cures the seafood in a ceviche. it was really appetizing. i think it’s the best ceviche i’ve ever had.

it was delicious but i prefer the sea bass was more delicate. but it’s sea bass. it’s firm, flaky and moist at the same time. it’s a little bit spicy, so it’s not really my favourite. but i can tell you, the presentation was very lovely. the server pour the yellow sauce on top of the sea bass. beautiful appearance.

Tiradito is a Peruvian dish of raw fish, cut in the shape of sashimi, and of aspect similar to crudo, and carpaccio, in a spicy sauce

omg. love the salmon picante. it’s 2 pieces of torched salmon belly with crunchy salmon skin on top. the salmon belly was melt in my mouth. it was super delicious! they said that they used premium salmon. of course! it was one of the best salmon i’ve ever had.



Chino 130k

salmon, fried shrimp, lump crab meat, asparagus, spicy sweet and sour sauce

again, the salmon amazed me. the rice was good, a little bit crumbled. but tasted so good. love the crisp texture on top of the sushi roll. spicy sweet and sour sauce enhanced the flavour of it. my cousin and my hubby loved it so much, they ordered a second portion hahahaha..



Pulpo Henshin 320k

low temperature cooked octopus, potato, panca sauce

funny thing, i was terrified by the presentation of this dish. hahahaha. it’s like a lizard! LOL. So after I took photos, my cousin asked the server to cut it into small pieces hahaha.. thanks bro! Well, the octopus meat was tender. still chewy but more delicate than the usual octopus i’ve tried before. the panca sauce was well-seasoned. it’s a peruvian red pepper. definitely delish.


Chochinillo 320k

pork confit, pumpkin & orange puree

omg the pork confit was super tender, super delicate and super moist. it’s juicy but not too much fat. pork confit is actually a dish of seasoned pork that’s cooked in its own fat. so it mixed perfectly. the pumpkin and orange puree enhanced the texture and flavour of the chochinillo.


Salmon A La Brasa 290k

miso, quinoa, compressed watermelon & honeydew

the salmon was melt in my mouth. i could taste the juicy of the salmon. the opposite texture was the quinoa. it’s crunchy and crispy. definitely a keeper. the compressed watermelon and honeydew were delightful with the flavour and texture. it’s like eating the real fruits.

scrumptious fried rice with tender meat and grilled fish. a small portion but it’s still lovely to share it with your loved one. great texture of the rice, delicious flavour, made us wanna order the second bowl. Hahaha..



Picarones 80k

sweet potato, peruvian honey, honeydew, blue cheese ice cream

the sweet potato was crunchy delicious, combined it with blue cheese ice cream, became funtastic! the presentation was fun also. we thought there’s still something to eat below. turned out, it’s just the art of the bowl. LOL.


Turrón De La Pepa 80k

anise biscuit, peanut foam, popcorn ice cream

i cracked the anise biscuit and voila! popcorn ice cream! yes! the peanut foam was lusciously sweet. super recommended!

love it! we were so in love with the truffle, we asked for a refill for each of us. definitely a must-try!
