[NEW LOCATION] Sugabites Patisserie at Senopati Jakarta

August 13th, 2017. I once went to Sugabites Patisserie on November 2015. Whoaaaa.. time flies, right? And then it was shut down. Suddenly, on August 9th, 2017, it opened again at a new location. It’s bigger and prettier.

I learned that Sugabites belongs to sisters, Fanda Soesilo and May Soesilo. Whoaaaa.. I wish I could have such talents like them. Well, you can look at their website about the story of Sugabites. It’s really a nice one. Located in Senopati area, Sugabites wasn’t very spacious but quite big for a patisserie. Dominated with warm ambiance, Sugabites caught my heart all at once. It’s really different from the previous one. They used to be a small shop with a petite area to eat. Now they re-opened with a better version.

They used TGC for the coffee. I think I never tried it before. I loved it. Bold with not-too-creamy texture and beautiful after taste flavour, it’s no wonder I could finish it in a flash. They have es kopi susu too, but maybe next time. Funny thing, when I asked the barista how they serve the es kopi susu, she answered with a little bit too cheerful. “Well, it’s coffee and milk!” Well, actually I asked about the glass. Will it be in a glass or plastic cup. LOL. I know it’s coffee and milk, for sure. Hahahaha.. Yeah, it’s quite funny.

Matcha, Vanilla

Love the combination of matcha and vanilla in this cake. Not too sweet with a hint of bitter from the matcha. The texture was also very good. Sometimes other cake was too creamy. But this one was just a perfect cake with perfect texture and perfect flavour. No wonder only 1 cake left in the cake display.

Lemon Meringue Tart 18k

Lemon Curd, Sweet Dough, Meringue

Super love with thies lemon meringue tart. The texture of the tart was totally perfecto. It’s not hard to chew and not too tender to bite. Sometimes it’s too crumbly. But not with this one. The flavour was also fantastic. I could eat this one 2 portions, alone. The combination of lemon curd and meringue: overwhelming. Super recommended. Addicting!

Too creamy for me but the rose flavour was just perfect. Not overpowering the other flavours. But like I said before, it’s too creamy. The texture was too moist, for me. But it was one pretty cake to eat. 🙂

I think they need to put more strawberry to this cake. It’s hard for me to find the flavour of strawberry in the cake. The peanut and  chocolate flavour combined perfectly. The texture of the cake was impeccable. One recommended cake.

The Gelato was from Fiore di Gelato. Like they said: Feel the Happiness from every flavour of Gelato in our first outlet! I love the flavours. The red dragon was refreshing, same with the yellow sunset. Next time we should try their gelato and choco.

Gelato Secrets at Setiabudi One Jakarta

August 7th, 2017. Finally, Gelato Secrets opened at Setiabudi One. Yaaaaaay! When I saw their sign, I was hoping every single day hahaha.. Around 10:30 I dropped by to Gelato Secrets and did my photoshoot there.

Gelato Secrets was founded by Maria Indah and Gregory Carlo Lentini. They were inspired by their childhood memories and a shared love and passion for gelato. First shop was in Ubud in 2009. They use only 100% natural, fresh ingredients from carefully selected suppliers, free from artificial flavouring, colouring and preservatives, comprising both Italian classics and exotic Indonesian flavours derived from seasonal local fruits and spices.

I looooooooove this new outlet! So much in love! It’s very beautiful with pink and green and wooden ambiance. The sofa area was very comfortable. I saw a couple sitting there and didn’t wanna leave hahaha. Then a man had meeting there with his colleague. Love the playlist too. Soothing. And the people, OMG, very friendly. Just go there and enjoy the place.

il Vero Gelateria at Mall Kelapa Gading 3 Jakarta

June 21st, 2017. Sorry for the late post hahaha.. It’s a day at Kelapa Gading, remember? I saw this Local Artisan Gelato on my way to find IMAX theater. I remember that someone said that il Vero Gelateria was very good, and cheaper than the other gelato business.

It’s not a big one. Just a small kiosk in the middle of the mall. But good thing, they have long tables with 8 chairs. Very nice to sit there, after ordering gelato or sorbet. I took some photos and ordered the gelato and sorbet. OMG their price was cheaper indeed than the others. Small cup only 25k, medium 30k and large with 3 flavours only 40k. OMG. Favourite! Hahaha..

Mango, Chocolate, Lemon 40k

Love the combination of sweet and sour in this cup. I love how the chocolate tasted so dark, and the mango tasted so sweet, and the lemon tasted so sour. The texture of the gelato and sorbet were so perfect, I wanted to add another cup. Too bad I had to eat again later so I had to postpone my appetite. Another time, I think.

eskimomo at Pop On Plaza – Plaza Indonesia Thamrin Jakarta

June 10th, 2017. I think everybody loves ice cream. Me too! LOL. I heard about eskimomo when I came to a Japanese restaurant at Senopati area, and their collaboration amazed me. Who knew that the founders of eskimomo (Gupta Sitorus and Primo Rizky) could become my friends? *hug hug* By the way, I read somewhere that the name eskimomo comes from Primo’s nickname, “Momo,” and “eskim,” the way Indonesian children usually refer to ice cream. Super cute!

When I heard that they opened a pop-up shop in Plaza Indonesia, I told my hubby that we should visit the place. Then, after several days have passed, finally I had a chance to visit them. It was a small area – join with other tenants – but very comfortable. And they have this lovely corner to take photos. LOL.

Banana Fritter

This is my favourite. Sweet and fragrant. Just like eating a banana fritter. Love the texture. And of course love the flavour. I think I will order this one again when I miss Mom’s banana fritter. 🙂

Since my hubby loved apple so much, it’s his favourite. I didn’t like apple, so Apple Pie will be my last choice. But when he saw it, he said, “I wanna try apple pie!!” Well, I let him finish it of course.

This is the most famous flavour hahahaha.. I ordered this one just because I wanna prove that it really tastes like nasi uduk. And yes, it’s true, not only a rumor hahahaha.. I think I found chili and tempe orek. OMG! So genius!

Grom Lotte Shopping Avenue Ciputra World Jakarta

September 20th, 2016. Everybody loves gelato. I love gelato too, but not every kind of gelato. While everybody loves ice cream, gelato or sorbet, I’m not very into them. And, all my friends would be like, “Whoaaaa.. are you sure? Ice cream is the most delicious thing in the whole universe!” Something like that. But, when this gelato shop from Italy finally opened in Jakarta, I’m in love. Grom.

Grom is the gelato you would make for the ones you love. Grom story began in 2003, when two friends, Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom, inaugurated the first Grom gelateria in Turin, Italy. Their dream was – and still is! – to make the best gelato in the world. This is how the gelato come una volta (“like it used to be made”) was born: gelato made with high-quality fresh milk, cage-free eggs and the best raw ingredients; sorbets with 50% fruit picked when fully ripe at their organic farm Mura Mura or from trusted cultivators; no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or emulsifiers of any kind – 100% natural ingredients.

Last year, Grom opened their first store in Jakarta at Pacific Place. Then, they spread their wings to Plaza Senayan, and now Lotte Shopping Avenue. Yaaaaay! When I knew about the LoVe outlet, I was so happy. Well, Pacific Place was not far away, but LoVe was closer. So so so so happy. And finally, grand opening. Another yaaaaay!! Psst, I’ve been there twice before their grand opening. Hahahaha..

I had the privilege to go there after their grand opening with some fellow foodies. Hans, Aline, Fiona, Gaby and Brian. We were having so much fun, trying all those delicious sorbet, gelato and affogato. So many flavours at Grom, such as: Crema de Grom (egg cream gelato with gluten free corn biscuit and Domori chocolate chips from Sierra Nevada, Columbia), Baccio, Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Coffee Gelato, Strawberry Sorbet, Mango Sorbet, Lemon Sorbet and many more. For me, I tried Crema de Grom and Baccio for my dark chocolate affogato. Grom was introducing new flavours, Raspberry Sorbet made by Forest Raspberry from Europe. Also Coconut flavour. Hans tried Raspberry and Strawberry Sorbet. I forgot to take picture of it, but it was amazing. Eye-opener! Sweet and sour were married happily!

Pertama gw liat tempat ini, gw udah jatuh hati. Di balik kaca jendela taxi yg gw tumpangin bareng Hans malam itu di kala hujan rintik2 *kenapa jd kaya bikin cerpen??*, gw baca tulisan di jendelanya..

Siapa sih yg gak tau es krim? Setau gw semua orang kayanya suka sama es krim. Apalagi kalo lg panas2nya itu, paling sedap deh makan es krim. Tiap liat tukang es krim lewat kayanya mau dipanggil melulu.. Hihihi.. Tapi semakin gw dewasa *gubraaaaaaaaaak.. kapan gw pernah dewasa???* gw makin jarang makan es krim. Gatau sih kenapa. Mungkin juga bosen krn udah kebanyakan makan dr kecil. Tp bisa jadi karena rasa es krim makin lama, makin gitu2 ajah. Gak ada unik2nya lagi. Sampe gw nemu tempat makan es krim terenak. Hihihihi..

LIN Artisan Ice Cream. Outletnya di Kemang adalah outlet es krim pertama yang memakai Liquid Nitro. LIN itu sendiri merupakan singkatan dari LIquid Nitro. Melalui proses pembekuan dengan Liquid Nitro, pembuatan es krim hanya butuh 2 menit saja. Langsung jadi es krim yg enak, lembut, padat dan yummeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.. Biasanya bikin es krim itu pake freon-CFC atau mesin es krim, tp LIN bikin terobosan dengan menggunakan salah satu teknik memasak modern, yaitu teknik pembekuan yang menggunakan nitrogen cair (Liquid Nitro atau N2). Nitrogen adalah bahan kimia yang selama ini kita kenal hanya dapat digunakan di luar tubuh, namun ternyata dapat dipakai dalam proses pembuatan minuman dan juga dessert.

7 Juli 2013. Begitu masuk ke dalam, di sebelah kiri adalah tempat pembuatan es krim, dengan segala macam peralatannya. Gw sempet takjub karena tempatnya gak terlalu besar, tp bisa menghasilkan es krim yang dahsyat membahana. LIN Artisan Ice Cream menawarkan banyak keunikan dalam sebuah es krim, tidah hanya dari teknik pembuatannya tetapi juga dari bahan baku yang alami – tanpa bahan pengawet, tanpa penambahan perasa dan juga tanpa bahan pewarna. LIN membuat sebuah es krim dari bahan baku dan resep asli langsung di depan kita sebelum disajikan.

Segala macam bahan dijadikan satu, lalu di-mixer dan dgn bantuan Liquid Nitro dalam waktu 2 menit langsung jadi es krim. 3 mixer dipakai untuk membuat masing2 jenis es krim-nya. 1 utk gelato, 1 utk sorbet, dan 1 utk yg beralkohol. Tapi jika pesanan sedang banyak, semua bisa dilakukan utk yg mana pun dengan dicuci terlebih dahulu. Fyi, 1 tabung Liquid Nitro itu hanya bisa digunakan utk membuat sekitar 70 es krim saja. Gak cuma es krim sih yg mereka buat, mereka juga bikin minuman kopi2an dan makanan2 kecil 🙂

Sambil liat2 pembuatan es krim itu, gw mulai menjelajah ke sekelilingnya, tempatnya gak terlalu besar, tp cukup memadai dengan adanya area di luar yg cukup nyaman. Hiasan2 di langit2 dan hiasan2 di sekitarnya sangat cantik dengan penempatan2nya yg minimalis. Nyaman banget deh saat masuk ke dalam. Suasananya homey. Gw begitu masuk, rasanya gak mo keluar lagi. Betah bangettttttttttttt..

Made from pure cocoa powder. Es krim ini memakai chocolate chips juga. Ini favorit gw. Gelato ini enak banget. Coklatnya gak terlalu manis tp juga gak terlalu pahit. Teksturnya yg lembut bikin gw langsung melayang2. Terus terang gw udah biasa banget sama es krim coklat, krn emang selalu demen yg coklat, tp kali ini gw terperangah. Beda banget sama es krim coklat yg pernah gw makan. Best chocolate gelato ever!!! En gw skr masi ngeces ngebayangin rasanya.

Rum and Raisin 69k

Made from pure 40% rum alcohol, not essence. Raisins that have been soaked in rum gives texture to the ice cream. Gw jarang banget milih rum and raisin utk rasa es krim. Tapi kemaren saat gw nyobain, gw kembali terkejut. Tekstur gelatonya yg lembut, berpadu dengan rum dan raisin. Enak bangetttttt. Rum-nya gak terlalu keras, dan rasa es krimnya gak terlalu manis juga. Recommended.

Awalnya gw gak mo nyoba, krn gw takut kelewat asem. Tapi jelas penasaran sih, krn lemon itu biasanya asem banget en bikin lambung gw gak enak. Apalagi warnanya menurut gw kurang ceria. Anyway, setelah gw nyoba, gw gak nyesel. Enak banget. Asemnya menyegarkan, dan gw masi bs ngerasain sedikit buah lemon kecil2 di setiap suapan. Best lemon sorbet ever!!

Wow, baru liatnya aja gw udah bs ngerasain manis dan asemnya di lidah gw. Stroberi-nya terasa banget. Tekstur sorbetnya meleleh di lidah bagaikan debur ombak saat membasahi pantai *hadeeeeeeeh.. kece banget bahasa gw*. Gw suka banget nih. Rasanya gak mo brenti2.

Wafflenya enak, homemade, walaupun gw lbh suka teksturnya dibikin lebih garing 🙂 Waffle ini adalah add-ons dari es krim-nya. Jadi kalo pesen es krim pake waffle, nambah 20k 😀 Kmrn itu gw cobain waffle-nya dengan saus maple yg manis. Sedap kok, sampe minta lagi dan lagi hahaha

The ice cream is made fresh, and the espresso is also made fresh from coffee beans to bring out its aroma. Gak salah masuk dalam special menu. Rasanya emang special banget. Es krim vanilla-nya yg berasal dari vanilla asli bikin es krim ini berbeda dari es krim biasanya. Dinginnya es krim vanilla dituang espresso pahit yg hangat, begitu masuk mulut, langsung meleleh dengan manjanya. Bener2 memanjakan lidah.

Kentang gorengnya disajikan di mangkuk putih, kece banget deh. Porsinya juga lumayan banyak loh. Tapi tekstur dalamnya terlalu lembut buat gw. Gw prefer kentang goreng yg kriuk2 luar dan dalam hihihi.. Tapi rasanya enak loh. Agak asin sih krn emang ditaburi garam. Tapi enak kok ihiiiiiiiiy..
