monViet at Pondok Indah Mall 1 Jakarta

May 14th, 2017. Finally, I came to the latest outlet of monViet which located in Pondok Indah Mall 1. It’s opened a month ago, but I didn’t come. I promised the owner that I will come, but when the date changed, I wasn’t informed. So, I missed it. *sobbing* But, we finally had a chance to visit it.

The story of monViet started in the 1970’s when a Vietnamese mother left her village to open a noodle stall at a street corner in Saigon. She cooked the traditional noodle soup called Bun Bo Hue. Hue is a town in central Vietnam. Her noodle soup was so tasty, that people waited in front of her stall every day for it to open. The little noodle stall grew bigger, and after a few years the mother ran a noodle house that specialized in different kinds of home made noodle soup recipes. The family also grew bigger and in the end the little noodle house not only nurtured 9 sons and daughters, but also saw the birth of the family’s “secret recipes of life”.

You can read the rest of the story at their website: http://www.monvietindonesia.com. When they opened their first outlet, Hans asked me to join him to a foodtasting, and I’ve been in love with them since then. Thanks Hans.

Signature beef noodle soup

I fell in love since the first time I tried this soup. It’s spicy but very delicious. I’ve been addicted to this one for 2 or 3 years, I guess hahahaha.. After that, I changed to another dish. But this one is still my recommendation to those who ask me about monViet signature dish.
