[SINGAPORE] Forty Hands at Tiong Bahru Singapore

January 14th, 2017. I never heard about this cafe even though it’s been opened since October 2010. They had facelift after 4 years, and reopened April 2014. It’s my first time there, and I adored the place. Well, it’s almost 7 years and a friend of mine still recommended this place to visit. So the place was doing very well, doubtless. Forty Hands.

Located in Tiong Bahry area, Forty Hands burst onto the scene as one of the very first coffee joints in Singapore. The name “Forty Hands” came from Harry Grover’s belief and inspiration that it took 40 hands to produce a single cup of coffee from bean to cup. Hoped to find a big place, I was downhearted. It’s pretty cramped LOL. Good thing, we loved outdoor area. So, we waited for tables outside. And lucky for us, there’s a bunch of people in one table, and they almost finished. Tag the table!! Pssst, they have cute trashbin hahaha

Egg Benedict $ 19.00

served with Juicy steak with side of spicy roasted potatoes

This was Nurul’s order. Errr by the way, who was Nurul? LOL. She’s a friend of Gaby. I have no idea about her. Suddenly she came to our table hahahaha.. *peace Nurul* Well, I only tried the egg and the juicy steak. It was quite hit the spot. Great choice, Nurul. *wink wink*

Eggs Cocotte $ 18.00

Free-range poached eggs, sautéed spinach, Portobello mushrooms, mushroom puree, truffle oil, homemade pepita toast

The perfect soft-boiled egg should have pretty runny yolk. That’s why I love this eggs cocotte. Look at the runny yolk. Mouthwatering, right? I didn’t really pay my attention to the pepita toast. I cared too much to the eggs and mushrooms. By the way, the truffle oil was the one that steal my taste bud.

Salmon Hash $ 20.00

Poached salmon in creamy potato, mustard sauce, pan-fried onion, homemade pepita toast, fries

I was delighted with the poached salmon, which was fluffy and soft. And the creamy potato had the right amount of pleasure with every bite. I loved the mustard sauce. It was rich in texture with appetizing flavour.
