Alto at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta

November 17th, 2016. I still remembered when Four Seasons Jakarta closed their door for good. It was a sad moment. I remember those days when I had dinner there with fellow foodies. Met new people. One hotel with great hospitality. And it was gone just like that. But, it’s really a happy news for me when I heard that Four Seasons came back at a new location *congrats Rumman* Yaaaay.. And now it’s time for me to try their new restaurant. Alto.

The Italian at Alto food is like no other – exclusively composed recipes by our Italian executive chef, Marco Riva, made to perfection. Complementing the dish for exceptional dining experience is the bold interior colors and sleek modern touch to the restaurant’s interior design – yet another aesthetically pleasing section through its all new authentic Italian restaurant, Alto.

Guests can look forward to dining in a sensuous space with an exotic feel – rich, layered textures, enveloping deep tones of red and soft ochres complemented with polished woods. Located on the 20th floor, the glass window of this penthouse level captures a stunning panoramic view of the city sky-rise and landscape. Equipped with an outdoor terrace, the restaurant encapsulates a prime city view with comfortable sofas for fully unwinding. An exclusive bar specially servicing the restaurant is also operational with premium cocktails and the finest Italian wine – making it perfect for cocktail hours or aperitivo. For a more enclosed and private setting, a private dining room is accessible for occasions involving up to 10 people.

Decorated with red colour, Alto gave me a nice chill for being a fine dining restaurant with breathtaking view. It’s really comfortable to be there. They also have smoking area. A beautiful one, actually. And very very cozy. Different concept with the non-smoking one.

Caprese Campana

Burrata Cheese, Assorted Cherry Tomatoes, Asparagus, Balsamic Caviar

It looked like eggwhite. The texture was very soft, tasted delicious. I love cheese, so it’s not a weird thing to eat cheese as a starter. Cindy didn’t like it while June loved the flowers. LOL.

Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains stracciatella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture.

Tortelli Al Fegato

Foie Gras Ravioli, Parmigiano Cream Sauce, Olive Powder

Love the texture of the ravioli. Super love the foie gras. Well, it looked like gyoza but flatter. The texture was softly chewy. The foie gras was delicious and one of the best foie gras I’ve ever tried. I really love the parmigiano cream sauce. It’s like carbonara, actually. Recommended.

Ravioli are a type of dumpling composed of a filling sealed between two layers of thin pasta dough. Usually served either in broth or with a pasta sauce, they originated as a traditional food in Italian cuisine.

Ossobuco Lombardo

Braised Lamb Shank Ossobuco, Saffron Risotto, Garlic Bread

First, I didn’t wanna order this one. But since everybody ordered the other main course, I chose this lamb shank. And I didn’t sorry at all. It was delicious. Topnotch! Tender and juicy texture with sensational flavour. No bad smell from the lamb. By the way, the saffron risotto was outstanding. Super recommended!

Salmone Al Limone

Pan Fried Tasmanian Salmon, Caviar, Carrot Puree, Lemon Sauce

Ang gave me a big piece of her salmon. Delicately delicious. I always loved salmon. But since the other 3 persons in my table ordered salmon, I had to order the other one. Hahaha. If not, we couldn’t take the photo of the lamb shank, right? And we had to borrow from other table. And it’s not polite!! I couldn’t see myself, went to the other table, and said, “Can we borrow your lamb shank?” LOL. Well, love the caviar also and not to mention, the carrot puree. Pour the lemon sauce, and it’s just too beautiful not to enjoy this salmon.

Profumo Di Sicilia

Lemon Mousse, Almond Sponge, Meringue, Candied Basil

Surprisingly, this was dabomb that night. The fluffy lemon mousse mixed with the crunchy almond sponge and the sweetness of meringue, made a delicious blast at your palate. There’s funny moment while enjoying this dessert. The Chef made the meringue into a form of chalk, but it’s also a form of cigarette, so we pretended to smoke with that. LOL. We even took our pictures with snapchat. Super annoying picture hahahahaha..
