March 1st, 2014. For those who loves to order food by catering, should try Gaia Catering Company. This is a catering that will cater any events. You just call and tell them what you would like to do, they will do it for you. On Saturday, Gaia Catering Company held an event at their office at PT Gaia Mahaga Buana, Jalan Achmad Dahlan 47, called Gaia Show Plate – Food Blogger Partners. I was so happy. Omar always made me drooling while posting Gaia’s food-pictures. Rrrrrrr.. And now I had a chance to try them. Yaaaaaay..
First, they served us a very refreshing tea with mint and jelly on top. I really love it. Sweet like me hahaha

Prawn Mango Salsa
Prawn has always been my favorite. I have allergic to seafood, but I don’t care. Prawn is prawn. You better like it. Hihihi.. The prawn was very juicy, and you will try to eat them as many as possible hehehe.. The mango salsa was too sour for me, but it was good. This combination was good for a delicious starter that day.
Caprese salad on stick is a very easy appetizer to be made. Just a thread of mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil. There were so much tastes on the little stick hahaha.. It was easy to serve and easy to eat 🙂
Mini Fruit Pavlova
Pavlova is a meringue dessert with a crisp crust and soft, light inside. A crunchy meringue outside made the perfect combination. Top with fresh fruit. And the pavlola melted in your mouth. Love it!!!
Key Lime Pie
Key Lime Pie is made of key lime juice, egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk in a pie crust. A sour dessert wasn’t my favourite, but everybody will like it. Trust me!!
Pannacotta is a traditional Piemontese recipe – the name means “cooked cream” in Italian. Deliciously light and creamy, pannacotta always makes a great companion for fruit like strawberry. The combination is fantastic. Too bad, this pannacotta a little bit too dense for the texture. But still the taste was gorgeous.
Pecan Tartlet Baileys Caramel Whip
This was good. But I need more baileys. Hahaha. The chocolate garnish was beautiful. Simple but looks adorable. The tartlet was crunchy enough. Not too sweet nor overly gooey.
The funny way to try this one, just drink it like you drink a slot of margarita. It tasted sour and a little bit spicy. And frankly, I didn’t like it. Huhuhu. Not my kind of soup. Yeah, it’s like a soup hihihi.. But, my friends like it, so it should be delicious, it’s just not my type. 🙂 Gazpacho is usually a tomato-based vegetable soup, traditionally served cold, originating in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. Gazpacho is widely consumed in Spanish cuisine, as well as in neighboring Portugal, where it is known as gaspacho.
They made 2 version. You can see from the picture below. I prefer the open version because the bun was soft. The mini burger version wasn’t my favorite. The texture was hard. The salmon was not as juicy as I hoped.
Prawn Thermidore Vol Au Vent
This was very delicious. A vol-au-vent (French for “windblown” to describe its lightness) is a small hollow case of puff pastry. Vols-au-vent are typically made by cutting two circles in rolled out puff pastry, cutting a hole in one of them, then stacking the ring-shaped piece on top of the disc-shaped piece. This pastry is usually found filled with savory ingredients, but can also have a sweet filling. Love the prawn in a creamy taste. Prawns thermidor is a french dish consisting of a creamy mixture. This was perfect. I really like it. I think I can eat this as many as possible. Prawns are always sumptuous! You have to treat your taste buds to this succulent bounty of the sea.
New England Clam Chowder
New England clam chowder is a milk-or cream-based chowder, and is traditionally of a thicker consistency than other regional styles, commonly made with potatoes, onion, and clams. This is the first time I ate clam chowder and I loved it. I always love soup with creamy taste. They served it with cheese cracker.
Ayam Bakar Permata
Whoaaaa.. despite of its simple appearance, this menu was incredibly delicious. Never crossed my mind that it would be my favourite. I thought I will love the vol au vent. But, this roast chicken was stealing my attention. I love the tender texture. The savoury taste. A little bit spicy, but I could manage it. The sweet honey added more to the taste. I told Omar, this menu will be perfect with rice. Yeah, I am addicted to rice. 🙂
Baked Black Cod Miso Glaze
The black cod marinated in a miso glaze. It was deliciously salty and buttery. Love the texture and the taste of miso glaze. The asparagus on top made it perfect with the crunchiness.
